Gabriele Fava

Lawyer and founder of the law firm Fava & Associati, he boasts over thirty years of experience in legal consultancy and both judicial and extrajudicial assistance in labor, corporate, and civil law matters for companies, professional associations, and public entities in general.
He is an expert in industrial and labor relations, corporate restructuring and reorganization, and the management of negotiations with trade union representatives. He also specializes in corporate governance, with specific reference to the administrative liability of entities under Legislative Decree no. 231/2001.
 
In April 2024, he was appointed President of INPS (Italian National Social Security Institute). He is also an adjunct professor of Labor Law at the Faculty of Economics and Law at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Piacenza.
He served as Extraordinary Commissioner of Alitalia Società Aerea Italiana S.p.A. and Alitalia Cityliner S.p.A., and as Chairman of Società Autostrade Alto Adriatico S.p.A.
From 2018 to 2023, he was a member of the Presidency Council of the Italian Court of Auditors, where he also held the position of Vice President.
 
During this mandate, he chaired the Public Resources Observatory of the Court of Auditors. From 2019 to 2023, he was also a member of the Board of Arbitrators of the Private Assembly of Confindustria.
A member of AIDLaSS (Italian Association of Labor Law and Social Security), he has authored several publications on labor law. He carries out extensive research activity and is the author of numerous publications mainly concerning labor law, civil law, and data protection.
 
He has participated, as member and/or chairman, in boards of arbitrators, supervisory bodies, and high-level study commissions. He has also held various institutional roles, including that of legal advisor in several legislatures.
He has long served as legal advisor to Europa Donna Italia and is a partner in the TrasformAzione project, aimed at supporting the reintegration of women with or after breast cancer into the workforce. He has always been committed to supporting the third sector.
 
In July 2024, for the term 2024–2028, he was appointed member of the Board of Directors of the University of Rome – Foro Italico.
In March 2025, he was appointed member of the High Council of the SPES Academy “Carlo Azeglio Ciampi”, under the AISES ETS Foundation.
 
Born in Milan in 1963, he is married and has two children. He is passionate about tennis, a sport he regularly practices.
